Environmental Law
Our environmental compliance practice
focuses on groundwater and soil issues. For those property owners
and/or operators with an interest in minimizing the cost and expense of
complying with applicable environmental laws, rules and regulations to
the full extent permitted by the law, we provide compliance consulting
and representation before the DEP and EPA. Linda Alderman has
over 10 years experience helping clients successfully navigate these
agencies and the applicable laws and regulations.
For the lender or other parties considering a
new security interest in real estate, we help in the identification and
quantification of possible contamination and assist in the structuring
of the transaction to minimize the lender's direct exposure while
maximizing the value of the collateral.
For the secured lender about to commence a
foreclosure, we assist in the identification and quantification of
contamination and recommend a course of action based upon that
information.
For the innocent land owner whose property has
been contaminated by the actions of others we offer a range of services
from state or federal lawsuits against the former operators and owners
to participation in enforcement actions before the DEP or
EPA.
In some cases the best forum for resolution of
an environmental dispute is a state or federal courtroom. When that is
the case, Alderman & Alderman, assists in the staffing of your case
with a team of professionals with the knowledge and experience
required to handle the case. Attorneys at Alderman & Alderman have
authored various articles including The Connecticut Chapter of
the "State Environmental Law Special Report" published by the
Government Institutes.
