In the 2006, the
Law and Politics Magazine and the Connecticut Magazine reported the
Linda
Alderman had been selected as on of the "SuperLawyers" in the
practice
area of environmental law.
Since 1987, Ms. Alderman's practice has had an emphasis on
environmental
law, Land Use and Zoning. Her clients have included property
owners,
industrial manufacturers, large and small businesses, lending
institutions,
developers, individuals, and municipalities with issues related to a
vast
spectrum of environmental matters. These issues include: Soil and
groundwater
contamination, regulatory compliance, solid and hazardous waste
management;
Underground storage tanks; Water pollution control; Asbestos
management;
Emergency spill response; Remediation cost recovery; Underground
storage
tank fund applications; Transfer Act compliance, environmental due
diligence
for corporate and real estate transactions, EPA and Connecticut DEP
state
enforcement proceedings.
Ms. Alderman was born in New York City in 1963. She was educated
at
Northwestern University (B.A. History, 1984) and Syracuse University
College
of Law (J.D., 1987), where she earned the Anderson Award
for
outstanding legal scholarship, was the Executive Editor of the Syracuse
Law
Review and an Instructor of Legal Writing and Advocacy.
Before founding Alderman & Alderman with her husband on January 1,
1992,
Linda was an attorney in the environmental law and land use practice
group
of Robinson & Cole.
Her published works include the Connecticut Chapter of the “State
Environmental
Law Special Report" Government
Institutes.
She has been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association: Conservation
and
Environmental Quality Section, and the American Bar Association:
Natural
Resources, Energy and Environmental Law Section.
Community Service:

(member and co-chair, 2002-2006);
• West Hartford Land Trust (founding member and board
director,
2002-2006);
• Central AHEC (Secretary and Board Member,
2000-2006).
